It Is Very Detailed and Strategic in Nature
Though logistics is a very detailed discipline in every setting, it is especially so within the military. This is like nothing else because it involves great strategy by many different people and must be carried out as one overall effort. There is great strategy put into place for everything that the military does, and when it comes to the logistics of getting people, parts, and supplies to the necessary places this is especially true. There must be great attention to detail to ensure that nothing is leaked and that everything gets to the far away place that it must be in the appropriate timing. This can be a matter of life and death in some instances, and so intricate detail is of the utmost importance.
It Involves Very Difficult Conditions
Getting people and supplies to the right place is a tough enough job, but it is even more demanding when it comes to military ventures. The efforts are often happening to war ridden countries with very difficult conditions. There is no such thing as a perfect logistical operation because there is always bound to be some condition or issue that comes up along the way. The military must be able to plan and execute quickly and with very little effort. This means that adapting to unusual conditions or unexpected issues are a must.
It is Highly Classified and Involves Delicate Information
As with anything in the military, the subject of logistics involves very delicate information. These operations are classified because they involve the moving of things that one would never want getting out to the general public. This is particularly true at times of war or battle when the logistics must be carried out accurately and with the utmost delicateness. There must never be a leak because this classified information could be extremely harmful in the wrong hands. Though logistics is always a demanding job , it is never more so than with the military.
